General Rules For Drivers and
Crew Members
#1 Rule-- This is a sporting
event for the enjoyment of the racers and fans alike. Never forget what this
sport is about.
1. Drivers, owners, and crew members will
conduct themselves as professionals. Any unsportsmanlike conduct by drivers,
owners or crew members shall be grounds for disqualification and / or suspension.
2. All drivers or crew members under the age of 18 must have a waiver and
parent consent form signed before entering the pit area or competing at Thunderbird
Raceway.
3. No equipment or race car will be considered as having been approved by
reason of having passed through inspection unobserved.
4. Any person who defies or violates the intent or spirit of the Thunderbird
Raceway rules shall be considered to have engaged in unsportsmanlike conduct
and shall be subject to suspension or removal from the premises.
5. Thunderbird Raceway reserves the right to refuse any car or participant
at any event, for any reason.
6. No alcoholic beverages or controlled substances are to be consumed before
or during races by anyone entering the pit area.
7. Thunderbird Raceway officials reserve the right to request a doctor’s
release at any time, for a said driver to participate at Thunderbird Raceway.
Sportsmanship Rules for Drivers AND Crew:
1. All discussions with officials shall be conducted in a professional manner.
2. Drivers are responsible for the conduct and actions of all crew members
(this includes spouses, relatives, and significant others). Unsportsmanlike
conduct, fighting, or harassing officials may result in disqualification and/or
suspension.
3. All drivers & crew will conduct themselves in a professional manner.
4. Disqualification and or suspension will result for the following unsportsmanlike
behavior.
A. Driver or crew member going into other drivers pit area.
B. Fighting
or assault.
C. Any driver threatening or touching an official.
D. Any driver stopping on the track and throwing a tantrum or holding up the
show.
E. Any driver that takes his or hers helmet off while on the race track during
an event.
F. Any driver or crew member using profanity or obscure gestures at flagman
or any official.
G. Any driver that intentionally makes contact with another car following
the finish of a race or during a caution period.
H. Or any other unprofessional or unsportsmanlike conduct not covered in this
section.
2011 UMP Late Model Rules
RaceCeiver:
The RaceCeiver is required to compete at Thunderbird
Raceway!

2011 UMP Street Stock Rules
Note:
-Cars in this class are Street Stocks.
-Drivers in this class will receive UMP Stock Car Regional & National
Points.
Safety Equipment:
-Driver must wear a fully approved fire suit,
racing gloves, neck brace, and a full face-racing helmet SA 2000 or newer
when on the track.
-The RaceCeiver is required to compete at
Thunderbird Raceway!
Fire Extinguisher:
-Must be in working order, mounted for easy
removal and with-in reach of the driver. (NO TAPE, CLAMPS, ZIP TIES).
Windshield:
-If windshield is removed you must have (3)
vertical steel rods in front of the driver, (protective screen is optional).
All other glass must be removed.
Seat Belts:
-Racing approved (5) point racing belts are
mandatory and must be securely mounted to roll cage.
Window Net:
-Mandatory! Must be factory and full size
and must be securely fastened to frame, or roll cage, with release at front
top left corner.
Cars:
-A borrowed car must be from the same division.
A car cannot be run in two features in one night. A car can only be run in
championship races in a single division. Sportsman cars are limited to American
1950 to 2005 passenger cars only. Must maintain stock appearance.
Engine:
A,) The engine and body must be manufactured
by the same company and be within the same manufacturer’s model line
when introduced into competition.
B.) The number one (1) spark plug must align itself in a perpendicular line
with the center of the upper ball joint for each manufacturer.
C.)The engine block must be cast iron from an OEM manufacturer. In addition
to the factory OEM blocks only the GM Bowtie blocks with the casting numbers
of 10051181, 10051182 and 10051183 will be permitted.
D.) Aluminum engine blocks will not be permitted.
E.) Cast iron cylinder heads of any make are permitted.
F.) Aluminum cylinder heads of any origin will not be permitted.
G.) Only Roller Tip Rockers will be permitted.
H.) Roller Cams of any-type will not be permitted. Roller and/or mushroom-type
lifters will NOT be permitted.
I.) Cast Iron or Aluminum intake manifolds will be permitted.
J.) Cast Iron or aftermarket exhaust headers will be permitted. The direction
of the exhaust flow must exit away from the car and the track surface.
K.) HEI distributors will be permitted. The OEM firing order for the engine
must be maintained.
L.) Racing-type and/or specific racing-type distributors will not be not permitted.
M.) MSD boxes and/or any other ignition amplifier boxes of any type will not
be permitted.
N.) Conventional or Aluminum radiators will be permitted.
O.) One 500 CFM 4412 Holley carburetor is
required.
1.) The original choke tower must remain
in its stock position and configuration.
2.) The choke blade may be removed.
3.) Any other alterations to the body of the carburetor, internal working
mechanisms, venturis, throttle plate and/or any other part and/or component
of the carburetor will not be permitted.
4.) Carburetor jets may be replaced and/or adjusted as an engine tuning method.
5.) Only mechanical fuel pumps will be permitted.
P.) All cars must be equipped with an operable starter in working condition.
Transmission & Driveline
All Types:
A.) The transmission must have a minimum of
at least two forward gears and one reverse, plus neutral position.
B.) With motor running and car in still position, the transmission must be
able to engage the car in gear and the car must be able to move forward, then
backward.
C.) Only OEM production type transmissions will be permitted - two speed,
three speed, four speed and automatic.
D.) Five speed (or more) transmissions, “in and out” boxes, and/or
quick change will not be permitted.
E.) All functioning shift levers must be located in OEM position. The flywheel
and/or flexplate must be bolted directly to the end of the crankshaft, and
the pressure plate must be fastened and/or bolted directly to the flywheel/flexplate.
F.) Only one (1) flywheel/flexplate will be permitted. All driveline components
within the bell housing must rotate consistent with the RPM of the engine
while the car is in any gear. Only unaltered an unaltered OEM flexplate and/or
an OEM replacement will be permitted.
Manual:
A.) Any manual-type transmission must be in
an OEM or OEM replacement case.
B.) In manual-type applications only an external steel and/or aluminum, single
or multi-disc clutch inside an explosion-proof steel bell housing will be
permitted. The bell housing must be a minimum 270 degrees around top of clutch/flywheel
area.
C.) Special purpose, after-market type racing transmissions will not be permitted.
Automatic:
A.) Any automatic-type transmission must remain
in an OEM or OEM replacement case, with a functioning OEM appearing pump.
B.) An aluminum OEM bell housing and/or aftermarket explosion-proof aluminum
bellhousing will be permitted.
C.) The original OEM bell housing must have an approved scattershield constructed
of minimum 0.125” inch by three (3) inch steel, 270 degrees around flexplate.
Manual bump starts will be permitted.
Drive Shaft:
A.) The driveshaft must be a minimum two (2)
inch diameter and made from magnetic steel.
B.) The driveshaft must be painted white and clearly labeled with the car
number on the white portion of the driveshaft.
C.) Only magnetic steel slip-yokes will be permitted.
D.) A 360-degree drive shaft loop will be required and must be constructed
of at least 0.25” inch by two (2) inch magnetic steel, and/or one (1)
inch diameter tubing, mounted six (6) inches behind the front universal joint.
A second drive shaft hoop is recommended and must be placed within 12”
inches of the front universal joint.
Chassis:
A.) Only American manufactured cars and/or
full-size “uni-body” type cars will be permitted.
B.) All vehicles must maintain a minimum of 107” (inch) wheelbase.
C.) Altering of stock frame, with the exception of repair to the original
frame to maintain original specifications will not be permitted. Repairs that
will be acceptable will include patching of holes and/or rust(ed) areas of
the frame. Repairs will be approved at the discretion of DIRTCAR Officials
and/or local track officials.
D.) The rear frame may be replaced from the rear shock absorber mounts toward
the rear of the car.
Weight:
A.) The minimum weight requirement at all
times will be 3,200 lbs (pounds).
B.) All weights must be securely mounted with two (2) ½” (inch)
bolts securing them to the frame in a positive manner. The weight(s) must
be painted white with the car number clearly marked on them. All weights must
be mounted under the body of the car.
Fuel Cells and Fuel:
A.) Only gasoline-type fuels will be permitted.
B.) The fuel cell must be securely mounted in the rear of the car and secured
with straps. It is recommended that the fuel cell be mounted solidly to the
rear frame rails of the vehicle in a fabricated manner.
C.) All fuel cells must be enclosed in a metal container.
D.) The fuel cell must be a steel container with a minimum of two (2) one
(1) inch by 1/8” (inch) steel straps on each side of the container to
mount the fuel cell.
E.) Only gasoline will be permitted. Methanol and/or any other type of fuel
and/or any type of fuel additive will not be permitted.
Body:
A.) The body, frame and engine must match
the manufacturer. The body, body mounting position and overall appearance
must retain all stock OEM dimensions. All glass, chrome and upholstery must
be removed from body prior to competition. The body must be made from magnetic
steel.
B.) The top and/or roof of the car may be removed to install the roll cage
assembly, but it must be replaced and fastened in its stock OEM location.
C.) The front windshield opening must be covered with ½” x ½”-inch
and/or 1” x ½”-inch wire mesh. It is also recommended that
three (3) support bars fabricated from magnetic steel tubing, a minimum of
1”-inch diameter and .095” wall thickness be spaced equally in
front of the driver and welded to the top roll cage bar and the dash bar of
the roll cage in a vertical manner.
C.) The inner door panels may be altered for the placement of the door bars
in the roll cage assembly.
D.) The inner fender wells may only be cut to allow for tire clearance. Any
excessive alteration will not be permitted.
E.) The floorpan and firewalls must be stock in appearance and be complete
on both the driver and passenger side of the vehicle. The floorpan and firewalls
(front and rear) may be repaired and/or fabricated, but must retain stock
appearance and stock material thickness. The only alterations permitted to
the floorpan and/or firewall will be for the proper engine setback. Any alterations
to the floorpan and/or firewall material thickness will not be permitted.
1.) Repair of the floorpan or firewall patch, if needed, must be made with
magnetic steel with minimum thickness of the original in the stock location.
Repair patch is limited to the repair or hole only.
2.) Floorboard may be cut for the mounting of the roll cage only.
3.) Firewall(s) must be sealed and complete. Open holes in the firewall will
not be permitted.
4.) The front of the rear firewall must maintain the same height as the top
of the front of the dashboard.
F.) The driver and passenger compartment must remain open from left to right
exposing the stock-appearing floor pan and to the rear seat firewall and shelf.
There may be an enclosure on the passenger side of the vehicle, a maximum
of 6”-inches in width from the top outside edge of the door, for the
purpose of routing and covering the fuel line as it passes through the driver
compartment, unless a conduit is used. Additional sheet metal and/or any modifications
within the interior of the car and/or driver compartment area will not be
permitted.
G.) The trunk floor area may be cut to allow for the mounting of the fuel
cell.
H.) The body, including fenders, quarters, hood, roof, decks doors must be
magnetic steel and remain stock or approved stock in appearance. Aluminum
doors ok. Fiberglass hood ok.
I.) The body must be mounted in its stock OEM location and centered between
the wheels. Chopping and/or channeling of the body will not be permitted.
J.) Exposed tubing and/or bracing outside of the bodyline of the car will
not be permitted.
K.) Plastic aftermarket front nose will be permitted provided they are approved
and stock appearing for the year, make and model of the car. Late Model type
aerodynamic noses will not be permitted.
L.) Rub/side rails may be attached flush to the body from the fender well
to the rear quarter panel.
M.) A maximum seven (7) inch visor/sun shield may be added to the top of the
windshield opening. The window openings, front and/or rear, driver and/or
passenger side must retain their stock OEM dimensions.
N.) Mirrors of any type are not permitted.
O.) The back of the hood must be sealed off from the driver’s compartment.
P.) The front bumper must remain stock. Sharp edges will not be permitted.
Both sides and ends of the bumper must be capped. Tube-type front bumpers
will be permitted. Tube-type bumpers must have capped ends.
Q.) The rear of the car must be enclosed. The rear bumpers may be covered
and must have round edges and connect solidly to the frame. After-market rear
bumper covers will be permitted provided they are approved and stock appearing
for the year, make and model of the car.
R.) SPOILERS:
-8" tall x 60" wide maximum.
-Maximum Height: 8” Total Material With Maximum of 3 Vertical Supports.
-Maximum Dimensions On Spoiler Supports: 12” Long at Bottom, 8”
Tall at Rear. 8” Tall May Extend 4” Forward From Back Then Taper

Suspension:
A.) All suspension components must remain
stock in their OEM mounting locations for the year make and model of the vehicle
with the exception of racing shocks and/or springs that are mounted in stock
locations.
B.) The steering shaft may be a collapsible shaft.
C.) Aftermarket steering wheel and quick release are permitted.
D.) Steering quickening devices are permitted.
E.) After-marketing steering components will be permitted. After market steering
components must be similar and/or replacement in type to the OEM application
for the make and model of the vehicle.
F.) Only stock OEM-type bolt-in upper ball joints will be permitted. Adjustable
and/or truck type ball joints will not be permitted. Cutting and/or alterations
to the frame will not be permitted to accept any other type or style of ball
joint.
G.) Only DIRTcar approved Tubular-type A-Frames, mounted in their stock OEM
location will be permitted. The A-Frames may be reinforced along the edges
by welding round stock. Cutting and/or changing lengths of the A-Frames will
not be permitted.
H.) The lower rear trailing arms must remain in their stock OEM length and
format, from the original OEM application and measurement system (English
or Metric) and must remain specific to their particular chassis/frame. The
lower rear trailing arms must be mounted in the stock location. Additional
holes in the frame and/or rear end will not be permitted.
H.) The upper rear trailing arms may be altered (shortened and/or lengthened)
to obtain the correct pinion angle.
I.) Aftermarket bushings will be permitted, but the arm must not be altered
in any manner. Slots and/or adjustable rod ends will not be permitted.
J.) Leaf-type springs will be permitted. Only stock OEM-type magnetic steel
leaf spring(s) stack(s) will be permitted. Single leaf, mono-type-leaf and/or
any type of slider and/or any composite leaf-type applications will not be
permitted.
K.) Coil-over applications of any-type will not be permitted.
L.) Aftermarket coil springs will be permitted. The coil spring location may
be altered, however, the centerline of the axle tube may not be any further
forward than the front of the spring or not further back than the rear of
the spring.
M.) Only magnetic steel body, non-adjustable shock absorbers will be permitted.
N.) Weight jacks will be permitted.
O.) Hydraulic ratchet and/or electric weight jacks are not permitted.
P.) Only stock-type OEM brakes will be permitted. Disc brake(s) will be permitted
on the rear brake(s) provided that the rear brake caliper(s) match the front
brake calipers. Alterations to the rear brake rotors, to fit the rotor to
the rear only, will be permitted. All four corners must be in working condition
prior to and following the completion of competition. After market brake pedals
will be permitted. No Right Front Shut Off.
Q.) Suspension components that are adjustable within driver compartment of
any-type will not be permitted.
Wheels and Tires:
A.) A maximum 8” (inch) wide steel racing
wheel will be permitted. Aluminum and/or magnesium and/or mag-type and/or
homemade wheels will not be permitted.
one (1) inch magnetic steel lugnuts will be permitted on all four corners
of the vehicle.
B.) Only Hoosier E-Mod tires; compounds, D, H and/or A will be permitted.
C.) A bead lock will be permitted on the right rear tire only.
Personal Protection Equipment
General:
A.) It is the sole responsibility of each
competitor for the effectiveness and proper installation, per the manufacturer’s
specifications to be adequate for competition at every event. Each competitor
is expected to investigate and educate themselves for continuing improvement
regarding their own personal safety equipment.
Seat Belt/Restraint System:
A.) It is recommended that each car be equipped
with an SFI 16.5 or SFI 16.1 approved seat belt restraint system until the
date of the belt expiration (usually two years). Seat belts restraint systems
shall be installed in accordance with the directions and application of the
system supplier or manufacturer.
B.) Seat belt webbing that comes into contact with any sharp or un-radiused
metal edge should be protected from that edge by means of push on grip vinyl
trim. Seat manufacturers supply the seat with trim protecting the webbing
from abrasion or cutting under impact conditions and should be used to their
specifications.
C.) It is the responsibility of the driver, not the Officials or the Promoter
to ensure that his/her seat belt restraint system and all components are SFI
approved, correctly installed, maintained and properly used.
Protective Clothing:
A.) Each driver should wear a fire resistant
uniform meeting the SFI 3.2A/5 specification and display a valid SFI 3.2A/5
label.
B.) Each driver should also wear fire resistant accessories that effectively
cover the remaining parts of the body. Shoes and gloves should meet the SFI
3.3 specification and display a valid SFI.3label.
Seats:
A.) Racing seat is mandatory! Seat must be
securely mounted to frame or roll cage.
B.) High-back Aluminum (stockcar style) seats should be securely mounted to
the frame as recommended/required by seat manufacturer and chassis manufacturer.
C.) The seat must be mounted near the stock OEM location of the front seat
for the year, make and model of the specific vehicle.
C.) Head rest (behind the head) should include padding. All areas surrounding
the head should have padding.
D.) A right head net or support is required. Head nets must be equipped with
quick release mechanisms.
E.) The seat must be mounted a minimum of 30” (inches) from the center
of the rear end, measured at the bottom of the seat
Other:
A.) No sharp or protruding edges in or around
the driver compartment, which would impede the driver’s rapid exit from
the car.
B.) Windshield screens with a minimum of .090 inch screens must be securely
fastened.
C.) An electrical engine shut off switch is required. The switch must be clearly
labeled and within the reach of the driver.
D.) A fuel shut off valve is recommended and should be utilized. The valve
should be clearly labeled and within reach of the driver. The fuel line must
not enter the driver compartment.
E.) Flame retardant seat, roll bar, knee and steering pads or padding are
recommended.
Roll Cage:
A.) A minimum 4-point competition roll cage
is required. The roll cage must be constructed of magnetic steel tubing that
is a minimum of 1 ½” in diameter, with a minimum tubing thickness
of .095 (wall thickness).
B.) A minimum of three (3) horizontal door bars are required on each door.
C.) A minimum of three (3) driver protection bars are required in the windshield.
D.) Front and rear bars that pass through the firewall will be permitted,
with one (1) kicker bar to the frame.
E.) A radiator protection bar will be permitted.
Note:
Any battery that is mounted inside the driver’s
compartment must be completely enclosed in a marine-type box, with a lid and
mounted securely.
WRECKER HOOKS MANDATORY FRONT & REAR:
-Both must be accessible. If no wrecker hooks
are on the car, the car will be pushed, towed or dragged to the infield until
after the racing program is completed.
-NEITHER WRECKER CREWS NOR RACE TRACK WILL
BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE DONE TO THE CAR.

(083). 4 post cage required. One horizontal bar on passenger’s side.

CARS:
-Any four-cylinder vehicle, including Ford
Ranger’s, S-10’s as supplied by American manufactures sold in
the USA. Front wheel drive and four cylinder trucks are ok. No vans, no four-cylinder
camaro’s and no foreign cars that are not sold in the USA.
WHEEL BASE:
-Maximum wheel base 101 inches for cars. Trucks
short or long wheel base ok.
INTERIOR:
-All interior carpets, headliners and extra
seats must be removed. Dash may be removed except rear fender wells. Stock
firewall and floor pan must remain in car.
EXTERIOR:
-All glass, headlights, and sidelights must
be removed and replaced with sheet metal.
STEERING:
-Stock OEM steering parts for make and model
of frame use only, Steering Quickener ok, No heim joint tie rods. Tubular
steering shaft ok, if used minimum (1) U-joint must be used and quick release
steering wheel hub.
STEERING WHEEL:
-Quick release (pop-off) steering wheel MANDATORY!
GRILLS:
-Grills may be removed and replaced with sheet
metal between hood and bumper. Gravel shields and radiator supports may be
removed.
SUSPENSION:
-Cutting of suspension allowed. Stock
suspension for make, year and body style of car.
Lowering blocks ok.
SHOCKS:
-No outboard shocks or tower shocks (stock
appearing). No air or gas shocks, No over-loading shocks. Stock shocks only.
SPRINGS:
-Springs may be heated.
BODY:
-Steel body panels only. Front and rear bumper
covers can be OEM or aftermarket plastic. Doors only can be hand made. Cars
& Trucks will resemble stock body.
BUMPERS:
-Manufactured bumper MANDATORY! A round bar
behind bumper ok. Maximum (2) inches. No fabricated bumpers allowed. No bars
above or below bumper, front or rear. No box, channel or angle behind bumper.
Front and rear wrecker hooks or chains MANDATORY!
HOOD & TRUNKS:
-Must remain on cars at all times, at least
(2) hood pins mandatory.
-NO WINGS OR SPOILERS, NO COW CATHERS.
FRAME:
-No alterations to frame or frame motor mounts.
Strengthening of original frame ok. Can tie front-end and rear frames. No
removing of floor pans. No off-setting. Front clip must remain stock, if damaged
beyond repair, it must be replaced. You may use sub frame connectors, (not
over 36’’ long).
PAINT & NUMBERS:
-All cars must be painted with numbers (16)
inches high and legible on both doors and roof (within 2 weeks of first race).
WHEELS:
-Steel only. Maximum (8) inches, (13 or 14)
stock wheels will be allowed for stager. All have to be the same width.
TIRES:
-D.O.T. approved radial- not over 8’’
wide street tires. No wider than (60) series tires. (Must fit an 8 inch hoop).
No trimming or cutting side tread except to groove.
MOTORS:
-Maximum of (4) cylinders not to exceed 2500cc,
and must be stock. Make to make motor for cars being used. No modifications
to motor to fit stock mounts in stock position. Example: Iron duke may replace
Vega motor if no modifications needed to motor or mounts only.
-All parts must remain stock as supplied by manufacturer. No interchanging
parts from a (6) cylinder or (v-8) engines to (4) cylinder motors. No interchanging
parts of one manufacturer to another. Engine replacement parts as supplied
by manufacturer. However, can be purchased at a parts store. No parts purchased
from any racing equipment company. All engines on exterior must be stock appearing
for make of car being used. Rear engine cars may have bars around engine only.
-NO TURBO MOTORS
HEADERS:
-OK, mandatory muffler and max 3’’

-MUFFLERS MANDATORY!
INTAKE:
-Stock intake ok, No modifications allowed.
No re-drilling of bolt holes to head.
DISTRIBUTOR:
-Advance in distributor may be locked.
CARBURETOR:
-Any (1) two barrel stock carburetor (per
car). No side draft, no after market or special built high-performance carburetors.
Holly carburetors ok. Adapter plates ok. Must be able to purchase carburetor
from a non-high performance parts store, No alcohol carburetors or nitrous
oxide.
-OEM electronic fuel injection ok. Must have
battery disconnect on right of driver to shut
off power to motor.
ELECTRIC FUEL PUMPS AND REGULATORS:
-Are allowed only if mechanical fuel pump
can’t adapt to engine. (must have a manual shut-off switch that can
be reached from the outside of car. Must be marked with a Yellow ”X”).
-Electric fuel pumps must be wired to oil pressure switch to shut off power.
TRANSMISSIONS:
-3, 4, & 5 speed transmissions or automatic
allowed for make of car, Example: Ford transmissions can’t be used in
a Chevrolet, etc.
FLY WHEEL & CLUTCH:
-Stock flywheel and clutch assembly
as supplied by manufacturer.
REAR ENDS:
-Rear-ends, steel OEM and Ford 9’’
ok. Rear-ends may be locked.
WEIGHT:
-2300 Lbs. Weight
penalties may be applied to vehicles that
have modification outside the rules. This will be at the
officials discretion.
NOTE:
-No driver car owner, mechanic or participant
shall have claim for damages, expenses or otherwise against promoter, track
owner or any of its officials by reason of disqualification, or damage to
either car, driver, or both. Car owner, driver, mechanic and participants
agree that the track is in safe condition if they take part in racing activities.
-NEITHER WRECKER CREWS NOR RACE TRACK WILL
BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE DONE TO THE CAR.
2011 UMP Warrior Rules
-Drivers will receive UMP Sport Compact points.
RaceCeivers are required to compete at Thunderbird
Raceway!
NOTE: This is a stock unaltered car division.
If you want to modify the car – move to another division.
CLAIM RULE:
For this class to remain affordable and
competitive we have a claim rule.
1. Claim will be eligible starting the 1st points night.
2. Only Winner Can Be Claimed.
3. Only drivers with competive cars finishing in the top 12 of the lead
lap will be premitted to claim.
4. Claim will be car exchange + $300 to the driver getting claimed.
5. If using a racing seat and racing belt harness then drivers will be allowed
to keep seat and belts. Stock seats will go with the car.
6. To claim eligible cars must proceed to infield immediately after the
conclusion of feature race. If eligible car goes into pit area then they
forfeit their claim eligibility for the night.
7. Refusal of claim:
1st Offense- Loss of win, all money, and all points earned for the night.
2nd Offense- Barred from competing in Warrior class for remainder season.
8. Race track must approve all claims.
9. Track reserves the right to claim any car for $700 cash.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT
1. Mandatory- Approved Snell-rated
SA2000 or SA2005 racing helmet, full fire
suit, neck brace, full race type window net and racing gloves.
2. Roll-cage – 4 Point Cage REQUIRED - Minimum 1.5" O.D. tubing
min. Wall thickness (095). Loop behind driver. Two horizontal bars min.
on passenger side. Two drivers door bars min.
18" x 24" x 1/8" plate in drivers door.
1" x 1" square tube ok for rub rails. Ends must be angled and capped.
Roll cage must be above driver’s head. No bars through firewall. Roll
cage is for driver’s protection only. No kicker bars.
3. Fire extinguisher (with gauge) in reach of driver, mounted for easy removal.
Duck tape or zip ties not approved.
4. Fuel cell. In front of rear axle. Highly recommended! If original tank
is factory located completely in front of rear axle it can remain in this
position. Stock tanks must be removed if behind rear axle. Extra straps
on a stock tank recommended. If you are using the original tank with electric
pump in tank (external fuel pumps not allowed).
It must have a clearly marked shut –off in reach of the driver. Skid
plate under gas tank highly recommended.
5. Stock firewall between engine and driver
and driver fuel tank. Just covering tank is not allowed. Wrecker
hooks, chains, or cable mandatory!
6. Protective screen or windshield, with
three bars.
7. Mandatory – Racing seat belts. 3’’ 5 point harness
with crotch strap. Must be securely fastened to cage. - Belts should not
be older than 3 years!
CARS
1. Any front wheel drive 4 cylinder vehicle
as supplied by an American manufacturer or foreign vehicle sold in the USA.
No sports cars. Maximum wheelbase is STOCK to year and make only. No vans
or pickups. No turbos or rotary engines. Front wheel drive cars only! *
Honda 1.6 single cam engines will be allowed. Any other vehicles with V-Tec/Cam
enhancement technology will NOT be allowed in the Warrior class and will
be asked to move up to the 4 cylinder class.
2. All glass, headlamps, tail lamps, and sidelights must be removed. All
interior carpets, headliners and extra seats must be removed. Steering column
may be moved to side. Racing shaft and steering wheel ok.
3. Grilles may be removed and replaced with sheet metal between hood and
bumper. Gravel shields and radiator supports may be removed.
4. No outboard shocks or tower shocks. (Stock suspension for make, year
and body style of car). Springs may be heated. Lowering blocks ok. Stock
shocks only. No overloading shocks or adjustable shocks.
5. Manufactured bumpers only. A round bar behind rear bumper only. Max 2’’.
No fabricated bumpers. No bars above, below front or rear bumper. No box,
channel or angle iron behind bumpers.
6. Doors and trunk must be welded, wired, chained or banded shut. No double
plating, reinforcing, excessive welding or added braces to frame.
7. D.O.T. approved street tires with 8’’ maximum tread. Grooving
is allowed. Tires must be the same size per axle , No stagger.
8. Wheels optional. 13’’ or 14’’ rims may not be
mixed for stagger. Maximum 7’’ steel wheels. Race wheels highly
recommended. Race wheels may become mandatory if too many wheels come off.
Large racing nuts required on all 4 wheels.
9. All interior sheet metal must stay stock. You may only make room for
roll bars. Burnable material must be removed (carpet, door panels, headliner
etc).
10. No alterations to frame or frame motor mounts. No removing of floor
pan. Front clip must remain stock, if damaged beyond repair it must be replaced
with stock clip.
11. All cars must be painted with numbers on both doors and both sides of
roof with drivers name. Numbers must be a minimum of 16’’ high
with contrasting colors.
12. No wings of any type. No cow catchers or spoilers.
13. Damaged sheet metal must be replaced with stock sheet metal including
wheel housing, trunk, floors, etc when removed.
14. All cars must maintain a satisfactory appearance throughout the racing
season. Please no crashed junk.
15. Suspension must remain stock and unaltered
( springs may be heated)
MOTORS AND TRANSMISSIONS
1. Maximum of 4 cylinders not to exceed
2500 cc. Make to make.
2. Stock exhaust or stock headers only. Exhaust must exit past drivers seat
and must not point down. 100 Decibel maximum.
3. Stock intake. No modifications allowed.
4. Advance in distributor may be locked.
5. One stock 2- barrel carburetor only. No 4412 Carbs.
6. All parts must remain stock as supplied
by manufacturer.
7. No interchanging parts from 6 or 8 cylinders
to 4 cylinders.
8. No interchanging parts of one manufacturer to another.
9. Stick or automatic allowed for make of car only.
10. Stock flywheel as supplied by manufacturer only.
11. MADATORY – Tow hooks front and rear.
12. 1 battery per car, in approved steel box. Cannot be in drivers compartment.
NOTE: Be
ready to race both directions on the track.
You may be told to go to turn #3 to go on the track and race clockwise.
You may also start racing in one direction and turn around to finish that
race in the other direction.

2011 Thunder Stock / Bomber
Rules
The purpose of this division is for drivers who
have extremely limited budgets or are new to racing.
If you want to spend money "upgrading" your car then this class
is not for you.
Eligibility:
-All cars and drivers must be pre-approved
to race in this division.
-Any driver that wins four features may be asked to move up.
Race Information:
-Double features will be run for this class
weekly.
-Feature winners will start last the next race.
Safety:
-All track safety rules apply.
-Raceceivers are MANDATORY!
Body:
-Stock appearing.
-No wings or spoilers.
-Roof optional.
Engine:
-Stock appearing .
-#1 plug must be even or ahead of top balljoint.
Carburetor:
-Any carburetor OK.
Engine Claim:
-First and Second year drivers and drivers
over 60 years old: NO CLAIM.
Otherwise $700 claim - Minus Carb, Flywheel, and Clutch.
Track Claim $600
Tires:
-8" wheels.
-Street 70 series Radials only - No made for racing tires, No - re-caps.
-No Grooving, Siping, or Soaking.
Suspension:
-All components (trailing arms, control
arms, tierods, etc) must be stock.
-Racing springs OK.
Shocks:
-One (1) shock per corner ONLY.
-$30 per shock claim.
Wheelbase:
-107" Minimum.

Any

Must have cushioning between driver and drivers door – back seat recommended
Radiator protection allowed but no other re enforcing
Min 1 bar in front of driver

Drivers window must be covered with window net, snow fence, etc.
Air bags must be REMOVED
All Glass and plastic lights must be removed
